Ministry Internship
The Ministry Internship at IBC is designed to equip men and women to serve the Lord more faithfully through growth in understanding essential doctrines related to the church’s corporate life and ministry. We aim to accomplish this by mentoring interns both individually and through group discussions on their reading and writing, as well as by discussing their observations and involvement in the corporate life and ministry of the IBC church family.
who can apply?
While we prefer interns to become members of our church for the one-year duration of the internship, we may accept external applicants who are members in good standing at another Sacramento area gospel-believing church.
what is the focus?
Monthly group discussions, mentor meetings, over 6,000 pages of reading, monthly short papers, and book logs. The internship focuses upon the doctrine of the church, including its polity, offices, practices, development of culture, participation with other churches in missions, and philosophy of ministry.
when does it run?
The internship runs from August to July. We accept applications from November 1 to January 1. Formal invitations are extended in February, with an orientation meeting in March. Group meetings begin in August, but interns get their books at the orientation so they can start pre-reading in April.
